What is BillPay?

BillPay is a payment method developed by Santander Corporate Banking that allows business or personal customers of any UK bank or building society who hold a debit card, and in some cases a credit card, to make regular or one-off payments online.

How do I register for BillPay?

The registration process is straightforward and can be conducted entirely online there is no need to spend time completing paper-based forms.

To register, click on the 'New Users Register Here' button. Once you have read through and accepted the Terms & Conditions, the next step is to complete the Online Registration Form. Simply follow the instructions to complete your personal details, choose a password (this should be between 6 and 18 digits) and select from the list of available companies in the drop-down boxes, the companies you wish to pay.

Please remember that you'll need to have the bills you wish to pay to hand, as you will be required to enter your Customer Reference Number.

For security reasons, you will also be asked to enter a brief security question and answer please make sure this is information that you can easily remember and is known only to yourself. You will be asked to enter this information if you forget your password (for password retrieval process see below).

How do I pay a bill using BillPay?

Registered users should click the 'Pay a Bill' button to access the Payment Form. From the list of companies already registered, select a company to pay, enter the total amount of your bill, the type of card you wish to use the card number, expiry date and issue number (where applicable). Click on the 'Submit Payment Request' button to send your payment request for processing. Confirmation of your payment request will shortly be displayed on screen.

To pay an additional bill, simply repeat the above steps.

BillPay utilises advanced levels of data encryption technology to ensure that your sensitive banking details are transmitted in a secure and confidential way.

What do I do if I have forgotten my password?

The registration process for BillPay incorporates a security question and answer for retrieval of forgotten passwords. Simply click on the 'Forgotten Your Password' button located on the BillPay homepage. You will then be prompted to enter your security question & answer. It is important that you check for spelling mistakes before entering, as for security reasons, your registration will be locked out if you do not complete this request correctly.

On successful entry of your security question & answer, your password will be displayed on screen. You can then return to the homepage to log-in.

How long does it take for my payment to be received?

Payment requests made using BillPay are subject to authorisation and clearance timescales like other payment methods. It will therefore take 4 working days for your payment to be received by the bill issuer.

If you have any queries regarding the status of a submitted payment request, please contact the company you have made the payment to.

How can I check what payment requests I have submitted?

By clicking on the 'View Payment History' button, BillPay allows you to view all the payment requests* that you have made on-line over the previous 12 months allowing you to stay in touch with your finances.

*Please note that this screen is a record of payment requests only and will not confirm successful processing of payments.

How do I change my details?

BillPay lets you amend your registration details at any time, should you move house, change suppliers or if you wish to add a new supplier to your list of companies to pay.

Simply click on the 'Amend Details' button to bring up your registration form. All you have to do is amend the relevant sections and re-submit your registration. Any changes you have made will instantly be updated on your BillPay payment form.
