From the 13th September 2015, you'll need to use a new service to pay your tax online by debit or credit card.
Registered users will no longer be able to login and access their HMRC BillPay details after this date, please go to http://www.tax.service.gov.uk/pay-online/billpay for more information.
You can use this service to pay the following types of tax:
You do not need to ‘sign up’ to use our BillPay Online Payment service. You can make a payment by just selecting 'Pay Now' from the left hand menu. If you intend to make regular payments for Self Assessment, Employers PAYE/NICS or VAT, we recommend that you do sign up. This allows you to store your payment reference, saving time when making future payments.
If you are making a payment of Stamp Duty Land Tax or a Miscellaneous Payment, you cannot use the sign up facility. This is because each individual payment of these taxes requires a different payment reference number. In these circumstances you should use the ‘Pay Now’ facility on the left hand bar.
We accept the cards shown below from any UK bank. We accept payments on the cards shown below issued in sterling by any UK card issuer. If you wish to pay by credit card a non-refundable transaction fee of 1.4% will be added to the charge. Some pre-paid cards look and function like credit cards and may also attract the fee. Any charge of less than £00.01p will be rounded up to a penny.
